For me, drama has an extremely valuable place in society and within individual lives. I'm not just talking about the 'get up on stage and act' type of drama, I'm also talking about drama that helps people. It can help people gain more confidence in themselves and with other people. It can help people pursue the career they have been after. It can also help people understand their own lives and the lives of other people.

 

However, I do love a good performance! So by incorporating my two interests in drama/theatre, I devised the concept of ArtistRi!

 

For a long time now I have wanted to explore the idea of facilitating a youth theatre/performance group that gives the ownership back to the members. That means that although I will be present and leading the groups, I will be highly encouraging the group to lead and direct themselves.

 

I have much experience in drama/theatre, music/singing and photography/media tech and want to use these skills in my ArtistRi sessions in order to create as much interest diversity in the groups as possible. Not everyone who enjoys acting likes to sing, and not everyone wants to be on stage but they may still want to be involved in producing a show.
